Toshiba’s Satellite series is extremely diverse – it includes portable little 11.6-inch units for business users, affordable 15.6-inch units for casual users, monster 18.4-inch units for media enthusiasts, and dozens of other notebooks that fall in between. What all Satellites share in common, however, is affordability and reliability. Regardless of what your needs are (power, portability, monitor size, or just a good basic machine), Toshiba offers a Satellite that will suit your needs without forcing you to break the bank. A good example is the Satellite L645D, a 14-inch laptop that is about as reliable, affordable, and middle-of-the-road as they come.

Would NEVER purchase another Toshiba Satellite (Janice Simpson — 11/22/2010)
I bought my Satellite directly from the Toshiba site. It was a problem from the day I turned the thing on. Not long after I had purchased the laptop, I had to take it in for repairs. After about a month of waiting, I was told by the tech that they did everything the could but they weren't sure if they could ever fix the thing. The darn thing has been sitting on the floor of my closet for about 3 years...every now and then I turn it on...just to see if it still shuts down on me...sure does!!! Absolutly no help from the Toshiba help desk...NEVER, EVER will I ever buy another Toshiba....

Win 7 64 bit ruins this machine (Thomas Lecoq — 10/27/2010)
Purchased with Win7 64 bit and multiple upgrades. Crashes, breaks software, lacks drivers for costly printers, won't stay connected to existing XP network and cannot upgrade to XP. Toshiba suggests I try to sell it since they can't make it work right. Don't get the 64 it edition of Win7, it is terrible. Toshiba laptops were great with XP, but who cares when you're stuck with Win7. Won't buy any new machines from Toshiba. They led me astray for nearly $900 bucks. Their board ought to be fired for allowing Microsoft to ruin their great reputation with a lousy OS.
