Research In Motion's Blackberry brand is the pseudo-smartphone line of choice for business-folk around the world, so they've unsurprisingly jumped into the tablet game with a business-oriented take on the slate genre. It's most similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab in terms of sizing and specs, which is a bit puzzling -- the 7-inch screen is almost too small for traditional typing, which seems counterintuitive to the point of a Blackberry tablet. Nobody praises Blackberry for the strength of the software; they praise Blackberry for the superlative QWERTY keyboard, which is gone here. Aside from the input, look for a familiar user interface, a focus on productivity apps, and likely cloud-based storage. Look for additional announcements early next year, and we'll guess a release date of March 2011.
