Archos has been at the tablet game for a few years now, before Apple came in and made the genre a going concern. For whatever reason, their entertainment-oriented devices have never been all that impressive. Now that Archos has a few templates to copy from, it could be a whole new ballgame. Though the 101 runs Android 2.2, it can't access the Android Marketplace. Archos' AppsLib offers a modest 5,000 apps, and the 101 comes pre-loaded with a bunch. What does the 101 really have going for it? A low price: $300 for an entertainment device is much more attractive than $500 or $600.
