A Brief Look into Laptop Bags

A Brief Look into Laptop Bags
By , Last updated on: 12/3/2014

How times have changed! Just less than five years ago there were only two or three types of laptop bags but now that laptops have become ubiquitous, designers and manufacturers have been racing to create carriers of the might portable computer.

I will briefly list the diversity and pick some favorites.

Attaché Laptop Bags

These laptops bags or carriers in this case look like business briefs but of course are specifically designed for notebooks. The most popular models are available in aluminium but lately a few stylish materials have appeared from leather to neoprene.

I see some that even take things to the next level by being expandable to accommodate other belongings beyond the computer.

Messenger Bags for Laptops

I find that most fashion or stylish laptop bags are messenger bags. I don’t know if it’s just a mere coincidence but I really like the looks of most of these bags.

My only fear is that in the process style takes precedence over the protection of the computer and these vertical or horizontal bags might not be a safe bet for your laptop

JanSport SuperBreak Drop Down Computer Vertical Brief

JanSportFits 15" computer. Large, zippered main compartment with computer sleeve Side water bottle pocket. Quick-grab cell phone pocket. Webbing top handle with wrap. Detachable padded shoulder strap with no-slip grip. Organizer keeps essentials handy. Open back pocket carries newspapers

Abbi New York Valerie

AbbiLuxurious linear leather. Contrasting leather trim. Fits computers up to 15.4" screen display. DuraFlex padding for computer protection. Smart interior design for convenience. Lifetime warranty

Laptopn Backpacks

Such laptop bags are ideal for those who’d rather carry stuff on their back. Backpacks are my laptop carriers of choice because I am more comfortable with my computer on my back as I know it’s completely safe unless I fall backwards (never happened) or some fool rams into me and crushes my bag which with enough padding will keep my computer safe hopefully.

If you live in a region where laptop theft is prevalent, this is also a good option as most of these bags look like normal backpacks and it’s kind of hard to detect that they contain a laptop.

JanSport Air Cure

JanSportAirLift™ shoulder straps. Two large main compartments for versatile storage. Large front pocket with organizer keeps essentials handy. Cord pocket to keep electronic wires from tangling and getting in the way. Space saving V-Loft pocket. Padded sleeve to protect laptop computer. Water bottle pocket. Padded grab handle

The new configuration of this case also provides quick and easy access to the computer when traveling through security at airports!

Please note that all the laptop bags shown above have been picked from eBags via Amazon.com, the leading bag retailer on the Internet. I still have to see such a vast collection in one place and for the bag lover, this is a complete good place to start especially for the customer reviews.

For those who want designer brands or completely different laptop bags, you can simply use your favorite search engine to track down the different designers or manufacturers. They are so many of them and if I ever get the time, I will list them all on one page for your convenience.
